"Andrew McAfee, co-author of the book Race Against the Machine, thinks that when it comes to the disruption of labor markets because of technology, “we ain’t seen nothin’ yet.” At the MIT Sloan School of Management, McAfee studies the impact that information technologies have on industry, and I recently heard a presentation of his research at Singularity University’s Graduate Studies Program. McAfee contends that we could now be entering a world where automation will cause wages to fall and jobs to dry up."

We think that the monetary system is like a cancer that is eating its host and it will do away with itself in time. The mere march of events of technology will eventually do away with jobs that enable people to buy the goods turned out (technological unemployment) and new social designs will have to emerge. We feel that at that time a military dictatorship will most likely occur. The end result of this will likely be a primitive society where there is extreme human suffering. We would like to introduce the concepts of a resource-based world economy to the public so they will understand that there are other possible alternatives.

The Venus Project realizes the significance of the Occupy Wall Street and Occupy Together movements and offers a positive solution for their grievances.

We at The Venus Project fear that any acquiescence to the protestor’s demands will do very little if the processes that cause the problems are left in place. In this case whatever laws or regulations are made will be eventually bypassed or overturned and conditions will revert back. This has almost always been the situation historically.
