What Are the Safeguards Against Abuse of Power in a World Resource-Based Society?

In a resource-based world economy, we surpass the need for money which is the basis for most corruption. The society we envision makes all goods and services available for everyone without a price tag. This is what the function of government could be, by surpassing the need for politics in the management of human affairs. At present, governmental decisions have always been subject to the influence of the power elite. The cybernated complex would only manage and improve the distribution of resources, to provide clean air, clean water, and all of the amenities that enhance human life. Again, it does not control people or manage the lives of individuals -- on the contrary, it could encourage the development of individual initiative and creativity far beyond that of our present-day money- oriented culture.

There are many who fear the installations of cybernated systems. This fear is unfounded. It is not technology that is to be feared. Our concern should be with the abuse of this technology, rather than with the inanimate technology itself.

It's not designed to produce any abuse. Most people who ask this question are unaware of how the cybernated system is set-up: the department of agriculture as a set-up of computers with electrical wiring into the soil. So when the water level drops, it automatically pumps water out. If the nutrients change, it pumps nutrients. The economic resource-based system is similarly-based upon the use of all available resources and meeting the needs of the entire culture. It's just a computerized nervous system that which automatically maintains dynamic equilibrium in all production and all distribution of goods and services all over the world automated.

It's not hooked-up in a way that can be abused. How do you imagine it would be abused? What would be the point of someone abusing it? What is to be gained?

In a monetary system, there is much to be gained since money is involved. Plus the way we think and relate to each other in a monetary system is based on the conditioning of separation. We were not taught in school about the basic science that everything is so intimately connected that to abuse one part of the system is a failure to the whole system and therefore a failure to your own survival as an individual and the collective whole of the human species.

In a resource-based economy, people will be taught that every living being is like a cell in your body and it has a function and purpose NOT separate from the environment as a whole. Children will be raised and taught with effective and significant approaches to solve problems and relate on levels not seen in our world now. People now are highly uneducated of basic science, their connection to the environment, and how to solve problems with critical thinking. To no fault of their own, we are all victims of culture and upbringing.

A resource-based economy is not just a new economy; it's a whole new way of being, of thinking, of humans in general and how they relate to each other. Abusing any system which supports them would be considered offensive and nonproductive. In such a society, the measure of success would be based on the fulfillment of one's individual pursuits rather than the acquisition of wealth, property, and power.

T.V.P. & T.Z.M. Response to The Occupy Movement

The Venus Project realizes the significance of the Occupy Wall Street and Occupy Together movements and offers a positive solution for their grievances.

We at The Venus Project fear that any acquiescence to the protestor’s demands will do very little if the processes that cause the problems are left in place. In this case whatever laws or regulations are made will be eventually bypassed or overturned and conditions will revert back. This has almost always been the situation historically.

We are concerned that meeting the demands of the protestors while keeping the current economic system in place will not have the desired outcome. It will merely serve to temporarily... Continue >>>
